The BSA puts emphasis on development of Scouting in minority, low-income and rural communities, and begins publishing bilingual literature to serve Spanish-speaking parents and leaders.
In 1992, Boy Scout summer camping attracts over half of all Scouts!
In 1994, 37,438 young men become Eagle Scouts—a new record.
In 1998, the Venturing program is introduced for 14 to 20-year-old young men and women.
Pope John Paul II is presented with the BSA’s Distinguished Citizen of the World Commendation.
The BSA funds training leaders from the former Soviet Union and the writing of the Russian Scout Handbook.
